Calculation Notes To determine rate per 1,000 students, divide the total number of offenses by the total enrollment of students. Multiply by 1,000.

Importance High school students who begin a substance involvement at an early age and use substances frequently are more likely than other students to continue to face disciplinary offenses and or suspension/expulsion.

Strengths Statistics are based on uniform definition applied to all high schools in the state and, therefore, have comparative values.
