2021 New Haven Parent Connectivity Survey Report

DataHaven was commissioned by the City of New Haven to analyze a survey, distributed by the New Haven Public Schools, of nearly 500 New Haven Public School families during the pandemic. Respondents were randomly-selected for follow-up telephone interviews for a more in-depth conversation with DataHaven staff about their internet connectivity needs. Overall, 73% of respondents said their student often had trouble accessing online learning due to internet connectivity issues. 77% said connectivity issues were negatively impacting achievement in school. This report summarizes findings from the City of New Haven survey and the qualitative interviews by DataHaven.
