2015 Metro Hartford Progress Points Access to Opportunity

Metro Hartford Progress Points aims to identify and better understand the critical education, income, and opportunity gaps that exist in the region. The report focuses on three main points (better schools, better jobs, and stronger neighborhoods) and identifies challenges facing the city, inner suburbs, and outer suburbs. This is followed by an analysis of how a improving these points can increase regional prosperity, and the report highlights ways in which the community is already moving in that direction.

Qualitative Research: Community Health Care Needs Assessment

Using a qualitative research design, the Center for Research & Public Policy conducted seven focus group sessions, which took place at the Access Agency in Willimantic, United Services in Dayville and Day Kimball’s Plainfield Healthcare in Plainfield. The core composition of each group includes: First Responders, Latinos, Community Leaders, School Based Health, Boomers, Faith Based and Youth.

Greater New Britain Health Needs Assessment

The goal of this Community Health Assessment is to gain understanding of the health status of New Britain, Berlin, Plainville, and Southington and identify key areas of need. This study was a large survey plus additional data gathered from publicly available sources. It was done in partnership between Connecticut Mental Health Affiliates, Hospital for Special Care, Human Resources Agency of New Britain, The Hospital of Central Connecticut, and health officials from the respective municipal governments.
