    This manual provides technical guidance on the building, rebuilding, repair, and rehabilitation of city streets, guided by a set of principles for an evolving understanding of the importance of streets to the social and economic fabric of a community. Additionally, this manual is intended to provide the city of New Haven the tools and information needed to engage in constructive converstaions about solving local traffic problems with City staff.

  • Closing Shaw's is Bad for Our Health

    In response to the closing of Shaw's Supermarket, CARE carried out a project to map New Haven neighborhoods and take inventory of places to buy food. The results showed that there is a lack of grocery stores and supermarkets in New Haven, making it difficult for people to find healthy food.

  • New Haven Point-in-Time Survey and Parking Plan Update

    Point-in-time surveys have provided the city with a snapshot of parking utilization, pedestrian counts, and bicyclist counts in downtown New Haven. The report projects future transportation and parking needs, as well as providing suggestions to meet the increased demand.

    This report came out of the idea that long-term care is an important part of the health care system because it will affect nearly everyone at some point in their lives — whether it is because we need services and support ourselves, or we are providing care for someone in need. Blum Shapiro, a firm hired by CRI, conducted the required research and analyzed long-term care providers, recipients, and payers in Connecticut.This is part 1 in a six-part series, "Framework for Connecticut's Fiscal Future."
