    2016 Valley Community Index: Understanding the Valley Region

    This report is part of an ongoing, 20-year tradition of analyzing the economy, health, and quality of life of the Valley region. The effort has included the 1996 Healthy Valley Report, the 2001 Mt. Auburn Report, the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center Community Health Profile, the 2010 Valley Cares Report, the 2013 Griffin Hospital Community Health Needs Assessment, and the Naugatuck Valley Health District’s 2013-2015 Community Health Improvement Plan.

    2015 DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey Lower Naugatuck Valley Region Crosstabs

    This crosstab of results from the 2015 DataHaven Community Wellbeing Survey contains weighted estimates for the Valley Region, in some cases disaggregated by demographic group. The survey conducted in-depth interviews with 16,219 randomly-selected adults living in every town and city throughout Connecticut.

    The Valley Now: A 2015 Snapshot

    Commissioned by the Valley Community Foundation, DataHaven collected and analyzed data about life in seven Lower Naugatuck Valley towns. Guided by an advisory committee of local stakeholders, DataHaven chose to focus specifically on “the Valley’s” changing demographics, health and basic needs, early child care, and economic and educational opportunities. A more comprehensive analysis of the region will be published in the form of the 2016 Valley Community Index in Spring 2016.
